It’s almost spring and time for starting cleaning up our Diary of a Workcover Victim website! So our IT team is cleaning out our current website and starting afresh, with a fresh design, improved functionality, usability and many other improvements.
Previously we shared via our admin / tech commenting section some interesting facts about the hack or theft of Diary of a WorkCover Victim’s original domain name aworkcovervictimsdiary.com – let’s just resummarise it: in a nutshell: Domain stealing, also known as domain theft – in our case the theft of aworkcovervictimsdiary.com- is a common and criminal activity on the Internet. It consists in transferring your domain name illegally to another registrar, without you knowing about it. Rest assured we still exist on www.aworkcovervictimsdiary.com.au!
I wanted to put up a short post to introduce myself, I am the newest member of the Diary team, MentalWorkcoverVictim (MWCV).
I recently, and again, took a little break from blogging that was not planned. I specify not planned because I had more blog posts planned than could be published. Although my (and your) body without you realising or wanting to pay attention to it, really does need breaks, this time mine came in the form of nasty dislocation of my total reverse shoulder prosthetic which obviously affects the one thing bloggers and pretty much everyone needs, your hands and arms!
Hello my dearest fellow injured friends, (and supporters.)
I know it’s been ages since I wrote anything on my site, and I apologise profusely, but let me assure you that not one day goes past where I don’t think about you all.
IM FINALLY BACK AFTER MONTHS AND MONTHS, OR WAS IT YEARS AND YEARS!?
I HAD A COUPLE OF LIFE CHANGES THAT TOOK UP MY TIME AND STRENGHT… AND WHICH CHALLENGED MY WILL TO LIVE, REALLY!
ONE BEING A DOWNHILL CHANGE IN MY INJURY, STARTING WITH A VILE INFECTION (SEPSIS) IN MY PROSTHETIC SHOULDER WHICH TOOK A VERY LONG TIME TO CONTROL WITH MANY HOSPITAL STAYS AND ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENTS, FOLLOWED BY ONGOING – DEBILITATING- DISLOCATIONS OF THAT PROSTHETIC IMPLANT – OUCH! LITTLE VERY UNHAPPY..
AND ANOTHER WAS A TERRIBLE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, WORSE THAN ANYTHING IMAGINABLE, WHICH I AM UNABLE TO SHARE AT THIS STAGE IN MY RECOVERY.
I AM RECOVERING BUT A DAY AT A TIME, AND WITH MANY SETBACKS STILL.
I dont know if I should feel sorry for not being around or feel proud that the blog is going great.
Greetings and thank you so much to everybody who has been here all this time
I HOPE I CAN MAKE THINGS RIGHT AGAIN WITH MY BELOVED BLOG FAMILY!
As you may have gathered, our site was hacked last month and malware was found. The trouble started shortly after we received an email from a -clearly- very disgruntled IME, referring to his multiple negative reviews on our site’s “rate an IME / IME List“, and stating that we caused upset in those injured workers who were due for an IME assessment with this man. He demanded an apology and requested we delete the reviews pronto…or else… Coincidence? Maybe…
It’s now 2015, we’re back, I’m back. Case Managers are back. Legislators are back. Judges are back. Workers are back, and Business is back. And Boy, was 2014 a tumultuous year for a couple of workcover schemes…
We refer to some (out of line) comment(s) made on P Sharman’s Tasmanian Insult and Injury site regarding aworkcovervictimsdiary (our site). According to some people, it has been put forward that our site causes more harm than good to injured workers, particularly flagging “a concern that our site spreads misinformation and conspiracy theories, (possibly) contributing to victim behaviour”. Others believe we provide useful and practical information to injured workers and help them navigate the workcover maze… My personal view is that we are filling a pretty dark hole.
Again, following a series of rather rude and inappropriate comments posted by injured workers to fellow injured workers, it is more than clear that many injured workers harbour a great deal of anger and resentment.
